A feeling of belonging...

Beyond that vocal family we 're part of, I want to share with you my first emotion I felt when I was 12, when I heard your voice for the very first time. I had never seen your face, however I was hearing myself in your voice... as if I had in front of me, a cousin I had never met, who would confort me whith this feeling of déjà vu, already known, almost a likeness...

I, who's a single child, I've always search for "one" best friend. That is what you've been in my secrets.

Your voice would fill my ears, and eventually I could match a face with the voice.

At dawn, I knew you by heart, each subtle singsong, I would follow note by note your musicality, your passion, sung like only your voice can give colors to the harmony...

At the annual school talent, I was 13 and I would show off covering your songs.

For lack of any instrumental, I would sing over your voice.

In order not to sound out of place, I would do the harmony, and my teenage dream would fulfill: I was singing with you , for the time of a virtual duet...

I was given a standing ovation, I made it in front of my peers in high school. Were you here to hold my hand?

And by some kind of magic, I left here to live in your country, took the Canadian nationality, and ended meeting you...too briefly...

It was my turn to try my luck....A first album, a second one, and always inspired by your great voice, I would grow up. I won't tell you the rest of the story, it doesn't matter.

However, what I'd like to tell you, is what I was never allowed to tell you. Because I would have never imagined that Love and absolute Admiration that we give to our peers, could be a weapon people are using against us...

At last...from my letter to your eyes, from my voice to your ears, I can now tell you: Yes, I admire you, indeed...

Whenever my way seemed tough, I would take from your blatant perseverance to carry on my journey... The lesson I learns from you, is that we 're going nowhere and we're becoming nothing by competing with others...but we're getting better if we look ahead to become the best of oneself.

You've been my greatest influence, my biggest emotions, the reason for most of the tears I shed...

I still dream that we are at a table, laughing at the complicity we would eventually share. Under a same sky, you'd be a star, the color of a diamond. I'd be a moon crescent, we would dance around the earth where your truly unique voice echoes again and again...

p.s: I really thought Lara is very sincere with her own feeling and what she wrote was true. She being compared to Celine way too long now, start from the Eurovision, her breakthrough English album up until now. I really thought people should stop those stupid comparison. And Lara also tired of hearing all those critics bout her for imitating Celine voice, or wanna topple Celine position as the next big voice in music industries. Celine is Celine, and Lara will be Lara even if this world turns upside down. Celine voice is what she is, same goes to Lara...both are different. Only that, they both were born with the same tone voice. In my opinion, both Celine and Lara really admirer each other talent...eventho they didn't say it nor show it in the past. Celine management constraint her for doing so, and for Lara, the perception of people from inside the music industries itself. Now Lara had made it clear, I dunno whether Celine gonna do the same thing or at least reply the letter, privately.

I don't understand a single word she sang plus I didn't learn any Hebrew in my entire life. But when she sang it, I can feel what I consider as the spirit and soul of the of the song pouring out from Lara voice and performance. She didn't sang it for the sake of singing...but she deliver it...a universal message that everyone doesn't need to understand but can interpret it by listening attentively. This what I consider as TRUE and GENUINE artist. Every aspect they do when performing a piece of music or song...will effected the entire song. And Lara is an expert in this area.

p/s: Glad that her powerful and majestic voice has return. Look forward for her new Multilingual album release end of this year.. Hehehehe...

Those who still wonder what kind of artist that I always listen to, here the list. I'm sure you guys might not really recognize this artist since they're not really popular, especially in American music industry. But if you really appreciate gifted talent, marvelous voice, good quality music then I recommend you to try listen to their music, or maybe watch their live performance in Youtube.

Comment: People keep on comparing her with Celine Dion. No. She not Celine wannabe. Her voice is different. Maybe the style is a bit similar since she also a power belter. But Celine has this trademark of nasal sound when she sing while Lara use her very soft full voice. The biggest different are when the belt those high notes. Celine sound sharp, strong and piercing while Lara are more full, rounded and majestic. And not to forget that Celine is Lyric Soprano while Lara has a voice that crosses between Coloratura Soprano and Mezzo Soprano. So she doesn't sing a song with the same voice type but rather mix it up with many kind of voice play. Her skilled voice technique in my opinion is by far among the best. That can be heard inside most of her song(90% written by her). And for sure not many...actually very few people had the courage to sing her song coz of it complicated and sky high note., not to mention you need to sustain it about 10 - 15 second. Really need to put a lot of stomach work. For example, many people already cover Celine "My Heart Will Go On" or "All by myself", but...how many dare to sing Lara "Adagio" and "You Not From Here"...or even topple Lara version of "Caruso"? I dunno. Ohh...one more thing, she speak like 4 Language fluently but can sing in 5 different language plus she extremely intelligence.

Comment: I know Loreena not more then 3 years I think. At first I didn't like much of her song and voice when my friends promote her to me. To much anime ost really can reduce the mentality of interpreting good quality song. But then, I lost interest to all this anime soundtrack(except for very good one)..I become to liking her music and voice more. The Celtic element inside her song is so pure and down to it root. As if I can imagine the story inside the lyric and song...traveling beyond space and time. I know people will compare her with Enya, but Enya is Enya and Loreena is Loreena. Yes...Enya sold her album far more than Loreena but Loreena wins hands down for her voice and live performance.

Comment: This is one crazy and outstanding Jazz/R&B artist. Why I'm saying that? See her live performance video first in Youtube then you know. She 's not widely known to American country but popular in European. Her very....VERY wide mouth, impressive vocal technique and vowel control is out of this world. From very soft...to very loud and goes extremely high whistle note. I just like...woaahh. My hair is standing. Shes a professional pianist, play the piano like put all her soul into it. What I salute is her free style. She didn't constraint herself to the flow of fashion. Its so original and free. About her vocal, she has like 6 octave range. Can do the whistling thing with ease and she can hold the note so long that it hurt my vocal chord. Her music style is very jazzy and slow but fantastic. More spectacular during live performance.

A singer greatest moment!!

Lara caught in surprise when 6000 of her fans sing her song for her. Look at her expression when everyone start singing. I still got goosebumps when watching the video. In my opinion this is the greatest way for fans to convey their love to their favourite artist, and also this is greatest moment for live concert surpassing any concert from other great diva...period. Watch the video..and you know what I mean.

Ignore the few second of the beginning, low quality video and over exaggerate acting of both performer try to imitates Lara and Celine. I laugh and love with their acting. But the main point is to focus on both Lara and Celine sound. Similar yet different. Lots of love to both great singer.

French pop singer Lara Fabian was born in January, 1970, in Etterbeek, Belgium. She was known for her vocal prowess and skilled technique. Raised in north Belgium and Italy by her Flemish father and Sicilian mother, the French, English, Italian and Spanish speaking Lara knew that she wanted to be a performer at an early age.

With singing, dancing, piano, and music lessons to boot, Lara had already begun taking lessons at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels by the age of 8 and continued taking them for the next 10 years. By age 14, Lara had begun performing and writing songs, while her father, a former guitarist and backup vocalist, would accompany her on the guitar.

6 million copies of album sold internationaly has proven that she's capable to attract many fans outside her country, over the western and eastern region. It's a great achievement for a songwriter like herself.

Is there any other reason i featured her here? Bcoz i love Lara from the bottom of my heart. She's the only artist that i truely respect and salute for her musical talent. First time i heard bout Ms.Lara is bout 7 years ago(2000) during my secondary school. It just so happen that while i watching the tv, the Singapore tv channel aired "I will love again" song...i just like...wooaahhh...!! My first thought was...Celine Dion new dance single?! But when i watch closely on my tv monitor...there...i saw a figure...a beautiful black leather dress figure dancing and throwing her vocal like no other artist i heard before. Starting from that moment, i became her huge fans. It just a miracle since i only to watch that mtv once...but i became obsess of her almost instantly. (i only manage to see the mtv once only...and i don't have internet during that time) It just so sad coz during that period(2000-2003), the only song i know from Ms. Lara is "I will love again" Damn hard to find her album here; and only got internet line nearly end of 2003. I guess you all know what am i doing after got the internet connection...!!!

Overall, Ms.Lara fabian is just magnificent. Eventho shes not very well known in some part of the world...mostly US, her talent just huge enough to make her a one of the greatest singer and song writer in the world...~!!
